A Linear Prediction Approach to Two-dimensional Spectral Factorization
This thesis is concerned with the extension of the theory and computational techniques of time-series linear prediction to two-dimensional (2-D) random processes. 2-D random processes are encountered in image processing, array processing, and generally wherever data is spatially dependent. The fundamental problem of linear prediction is to determine a causal and causally invertible (minimumphas...
متن کاملPostprocessing method for suppressing musical noise generated by spectral subtraction
In this correspondence, we investigate whether musical noise, which often exists in speech enhanced using spectral subtraction, can be suppressed. Via exploiting some specific characteristics of human speech, we propose a method that can effectively suppress musical noise without noticeable effect on speech intelligibility. Performance assessments confirm that our method is effective.

متن کاملDifferential Transform Method to two-dimensional non-linear wave equation
In this paper, an analytic solution is presented using differential transform method (DTM) for a class of wave equation. The emphasis is on the nonlinear two-dimensional wave equation. The procedures introduced in this paper are in recursive forms which can be used to obtain the closed form of the solutions, if they are required. The method is tested on various examples, and the results reveal ...
متن کاملSpectral and temporal cues to pitch in noise-excited vocoder simulations of continuous-interleaved-sampling cochlear implants.
Four-band and single-band noise-excited vocoders were used in acoustic simulations to investigate spectral and temporal cues to melodic pitch in the output of a cochlear implant speech processor. Noise carriers were modulated by amplitude envelopes extracted by half-wave rectification and low-pass filtering at 32 or 400 Hz. The four-band, but not the single-band processors, may preserve spectra...
